Door Repair

Project 21111 – Damaged Jamb Assembly Replaced – 2008

Southlake Foursquare Church in West Linn

A church with a strong youth program apparently.

With some strong youths who it is surmised, hung on the door to the point of rippling the steel door jamb. Kids!

This is what they call a drywall door-jamb, which basically means that the jamb is installed before the drywall is installed.

And then the drywall is slid-in behind the jamb-faces, which provides a really clean transition between the jamb and the wall…

…as well as a very secure installation. That jamb ain’t going nowhere. But in replacing such a jamb correctly, cutting back and then…

…re-installing the drywall is required, as you can see from these photos.

All the original hardware is then reinstalled, such as these high-end door hold-opens that are incorporated into the hydraulic door-closer system.
