Kevin Floyd2025-07-11 They are so knowledgeable!! It's refreshing to work with a team of professional window and door repair technicians that instantly know what is needed to fix a door that is difficult to open and close. I've used them several times and I'm never disappointed. Andrea Whitley2025-04-26 This company serviced a couple of old doors in my 1960 home that were out of balance, not closing correctly, scraping, sticking, etc. They also replaced hardware on French doors and fixed the threshold trip hazard. They are extremely detail-oriented and show that they care deeply about doing a good job. I will definitely call them again. Mike Crouse2025-04-23 My wife and I live in the American Plaza Towers. Our unit has large sliding glass doors on both East and West terraces. Since our December 2023 move in, they leaked cold air and allowed a lot of automobile noise inside the condo. Last Fall, I contacted Anderson Door and Window Mechanics for an estimate on replacing or repairing all 4 of our sliding glass doors: two large 10’ W x 6’8” H terrace doors and two standard size bedroom egress doors. Mr. Anderson and Jared came and inspected all the doors. Much of the company’s summer work volume got pushed into Fall, and it took longer than normal to get a written estimate to us. This was a period when everything we tried to get done simply took much longer than usual. It was a season when many systems were slowed due to a lingering hangover of the pandemic. Jared came in mid-January to take exact measurements, show us glass options, and answer our questions about replacement or repair. He took time helping us understand the pros and cons of each option. In the end, we decided to have all 4 doors repaired since the cost was significantly less than replacing them, and the repairs would result in the priority issues we wanted fixed: 1) improving energy efficiency, and 2) reducing the traffic noise entering the condo. On March 12-13, a 4-man ADWM crew repaired all 4 doors. This included new double pane argon-filled glass, stainless steel track overlays, larger metal rollers, new weatherstripping and seals, and new locks and handles. The workers were courteous, professional, did an excellent repair job, and exercised care while working in the condo. Two of men returned the following week to replace 2 sets of locks and handles which had been delayed in shipment. Pamela in the office took charge of shepherding our job all along the way. She did a great job of keeping us informed and making sure all parties were working in coordination regarding schedule, etc. We are so pleased with the improvements in energy efficiency and noise abatement. We believe Anderson Door and Window Mechanics is a quality company that does excellent work! If you are considering any terrace door replacement or repair, Anderson Door and Window Mechanics is worth a careful look (ADWM.com). Betty Patton2025-04-12 Superb craftsmanship and excellent service. This company's representative repaired our exterior door to better than new. We are thrilled. And the company is pleasant to work with. Mike Colbert2023-09-29 Showed up on time and repaired my front door which was totally out of plumb and so was the wall. Somehow Jorge managed to fix it. He reattached trim, and caulked. It's like a new door. Took him six hours. They don't do painting, but I already knew that. Jorge also caulked a leaking skylight and included it in the original bid. Anderson is a little high on price, but you get what you pay for. I couldn't be happier with the quality of their work. Also.......Jorge is a nice guy. Be sure to ask for him. Julie Booth2023-08-19 Excellent service! I own a condo in downtown Portland - in one of the first highrise building constructed back in the 60s. As such, this building has some very finicky “tilt and turn” windows manufactured by a company in Canada. It’s very difficult to get anyone to work on them - or get hardware to fix them. I called Pamela Mae in a panic because I live on the 21st floor and the handle on my window failed leaving me unable to close my window. Pamela got a technician out as soon as possible with a temporary handle to close the window, and then ordered the parts. As part of our conversation, she let me know they were ordering extra parts to have on hand for these older buildings. She also was able to get me one of the special tools they used so I can have it in my kit in the event of another emergency. The technicians who came twice - to temporarily close the window, and then to repair it - were awesome. They arrived when they said they would, were polite and quick! Im very pleased with my experience. Excellent customer service and a caring staff! Christine Alexander2023-03-27 We had a great experience with this company. They were able to get us an appointment right away. Jorge was here for the better part of the day. He took the time to explain what he was and would be doing. The door was originally installed incorrectly by a different company. Anderson’s Door and Windows / Jorge were able to use our existing door and repair the jamb and added insulation to keep the draft from entering our home. Jorge was friendly, knowledgeable and informative. Jay Lewis2023-03-17 I'm on the Board of a 30 unit condo and one of our owners had a JeldWen casement window that wouldn't open all the way because the snubbers that help to seal the window had "locked" together. The windows are the responsibility of the HOA and we were worried we couldn't find someone to repair the window and would have to have it replaced. The tech from ADWM was very knowledgeable and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem and then spent 11/2 hours carefully breaking down the window to get it to open. He had to remove the bottom window frame and was able to replace it perfectly. For a condo with a lot of windows and doors a firm like ADWM is a valuable resource and we will use them again. The cost of repair was substantially less than replacing the window. Highly recommend this firm. Tori D2023-02-19 My slider door wasn't able to close and several other companies had sent someone out to "fix" it, but it was starting to break apart. I read positive reviews about Anderson Door and Window Mechanics so I gave them a call. It is rare to find a company that has the experience and is also willing to take the time and effort to repair something properly rather than to try a quick fix or suggest that it be replaced with a new one. From the beginning, everyone in the office was very professional. When it came to the day of the repair, the technician found some very unusual problems with the door and damage to major parts, but rather than decide that it was "unfixable", he called Gordon who I assume to be the owner. Gordon came to the site and they disassembled the door to find the problem, repaired the damage at substantial effort and reassembled the door, which now works great! Gordon also took the time to write a detailed email to me explaining what the problem was. The best part is he stayed within the quoted price range and I didn't have to rip out the slider and install a new one at great expense in the middle of winter! Thank you Gordon Anderson and everyone at Anderson Door and Window Mechanics! Cade W.2023-02-15 They did an absolutely phenomenal job repairing my 100-year old door. A lot of time and care was taken to do the job right and the door is in excellent shape now with no issues. They also reported a broken window pane and it’s perfect. I’d recommend them to anyone and will hire them again in the future if the need arises.Google rating score: 4.4 of 5, based on 31 reviews
